It's Official

Maiya sleeps in a big girl bed.

It's kind of bittersweet to take down the crib that all three kids slept in. So many nights looking through the slats of the crib praying the child inside would go to sleep. So many memories of my tiny babies sleeping peacefully inside.

It is also exciting and wonderful to be moving on to this new part of our lives. We feel pretty confident that we are done having children, so it's nice to know that we can now enjoy our kids as they grow up and learn new things.

Adios baby stage. Hello toddlerhood.

Random May Pictures

Our neighborhood pool opened last Saturday and we have been there every day except Wednesday.

A friend of mine gave me some dress up costumes and the kids have been having fun playing with them lately.

Dan's Birthday

Dan's birthday was on Sunday. The boys helped me decorate a cake.

We had some friends over on Saturday night to help celebrate.

Maiya enjoyed all of the people who were at the house. She went from lap to lap getting snuggles with everyone.

Garden Update

Our garden is growing! The kids are all big helpers when it comes to the garden. Luke waters it every day when he gets home from school, Evan helps me look to see if anything is growing, and Maiya... well, Maiya just looks cute.

This is our make shift "fence" to keep Benson out. It's working, but looks pretty shabby.

Slip and Slide

Today was our first slip and slide experience of the season. Maiya loved the water spraying up at her. She could have played there all day.

Getting a little drink.

Luke didn't slow down enough to get many pictures of him playing. He ran in circles sliding, running back to the top, sliding, running, sliding, running...

Evan was easier to get a picture of because he didn't want to play in the slip and slide. He said the water was too cold.

Pony Tail

Maiya had a real pony tail in her hair recently. She was quite proud of her cute new look.

Watch Me Grow

A blogger friend of mine does this cool "Watch Me Grow" post every week. She takes a picture of her adorable daughter every week in the same chair and in the same spot and over the year, you can really see how they have grown and changed. I realize we are nearly half way through this year, but better late than never.

Introducing our first installment of Watch Me Grow.

Maiya wasn't too thrilled with our first Watch Me Grow photoshoot. This is the best I could get.

First grade

Luke's first grade year is coming to a close. I can't believe my baby is getting so old!

This year has been outstanding for Luke. His teacher, Mr. Ottaway, has been amazing. He is exactly what Luke needed from a teacher this year. He is funny, sarcastic, jokes around with the kids, and also has very high expectations for both academics and behavior. He sets expectations and follows through firmly when the expectations are not met. He has been wonderful for Luke.

On Wednesday, there was a Muffins for Moms event in Luke's class. Luke made me a few poems, a painting, and a bead necklace. The kids sang some songs about Moms and we ate some yummy muffins. It was fun to see Luke in his class and let him show me around.

Strawberry Picking

We went to a local strawberry farm today and picked some yummy, fresh strawberries!
