Cookies for Kids Cancer Race

The whole family ran the Cookies for Kids' Cancer race this year.

I did the 5K and the kids and Dan did the 1 mile fun run.

Evan actually ended up going 2 miles.

So proud of our family of runners!

Mid-March

It wasn't exactly warm enough to get in the pool in mid March, but the kids gave it a try for a few minutes.

Evan started taking karate in March.

Evan had Young Author's Day at school and wrote a book about getting a trampoline and eating dinner at one of our favorite restaurants - La Unica.

Maiya was very happy about her new PJ's.

Happy Birthday, Luke!

Happy 11th Birthday, Luke!

A birthday cupcake at school.

Since Luke wanted a birthday party this year, we told him that would be his "present" and that he shouldn't expect any other gifts. So, he was surprised to find out that he got an iPod touch for his birthday. (Side note: He hasn't been nearly as obsessed with it as we anticipated he would be!)

His birthday party was a "game truck."

There were 4 TV screens inside with game consoles hooked up to each one.

There were 2 TV screens outside, too.

13 of Luke's buddies came over and played for two hours.

Then we had pizza and cupcakes and opened gifts. It was a great party.

They love going on walks together. And, I only got wrapped up in leashes a few times, so it was a win win for everyone.

Lunar New Year

Maiya's class had a Lunar New Year celebration at school. We are so fortunate that her teacher encouraged and allowed us to bring in some Korean traditions to the celebration.

I brought Bee-Bim-Bop for the kids to try (because we had read the children's book Bee Bim Bop).

Her Korean handbook dress doesn't fit anymore, but the head piece fit, so she wore that for the school parade.
