Kids say stuff

Maiya sings "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" all the time. Her version goes like this:
Tweendle, Tweendle, ha ha dar.
How wa wa wa wa wa aw.
Up a bu da wo so high.
Wa a di di in da sty.
Tweendle, Tweendle, ha ha dar.
How wa wa wa wa wa aw.

Evan is the sweetest, most easy going kid in our family (well, at least this week). With all of  his allergy problems this week, he hasn't complained at all, even though I KNOW he has got to be miserable.

Luke is doing a creative writing unit at school. He is loving it. They had to choose a classic story and then change some parts of the story to make it new and interesting. He choose to do Cinderella. His Cinderella is a Korean princess, named Ha, Yu-na. (In case anyone isn't sure, that is Maiya's full Korean name.) I can't wait to read the finished product! And, yes, it makes my heart proud that he choose to write a story about his Korean sister.

For Aunt Jean

My aunt has requested some new pictures so she can have a mid afternoon break to see pictures of my family. So, here we go!

On March 17th, I ran my third 5K. I have been running a lot now that it's warmer outside, and I blew my personal best time out of the water! My time was 30:10 and before that, my best time was 35 minutes. My friend Lindsay ran with me. It was a beautiful day, and Cookies for Kids Cancer raised $14,000 to go towards finding a cure of pediatric cancer!

Last weekend, I went to Lake Lanier in Georgia for an adoption Moms conference. The resort was beautiful and the weather was, too. This is the view from our room. The yellow stuff on the water is pollen! It's pretty crazy how much pollen is in the air right now!

Some great new adoption friends!

With the temperatures warming up, we have been spending a lot of time outside. Evan and Maiya and I rode our bikes to our neighborhood park and had a picnic lunch.

With all our outside time and the super high pollen counts, Evan has discovered his reaction to spring. At least, we think that's what is going on. For the past few days, Evan has gone to school and they have called me to come pick him up because his entire face swells up from the itching and scratching. The chiropractor has adjusted him, the pediatrician has given him prescription eye drops, and the Mommy has drugged him with benedryl. Hopefully that is the magic prescription to make this poor boy feel better!

Pictures

Green water in our water table for St. Patrick's Day.

We had a family picture taken recently. I snapped this picture of the kids while they were dressed for the picture. It would be cute, if the sun wasn't so bright - they all have their eyes closed!

Luke has been playing Lego Rock Band on the Wii. He then built a lego drum set. He wants me to submit this picture to the lego magazine.

Updates

We have been working on a few projects around the house. Our downstairs bathroom mirror had a facelift. Small tiles glued around the edge of the mirror to frame it.

A project I've been wanting to work on for awhile.

Each family member represented with a map of the city where they were born. I want to get a darker background for it, though. The people blend into the white too easily.

We have been getting into yoga as a family. This weekend, the boys decided it was yoga time and they did 20 minutes of yoga - all while sharing a mat. I think maybe it's time for a "Yoga for Kids" DVD.
