On October 23, 2015, our streak of no children with broken bones ended.
We got a call from the school that Maiya had fallen from the monkey bars and had landed wrong on her arm. They were quite sure that it was broken. We jumped in the car and headed over top pick her up from school. Her arm was in pretty bad shape and we went right to the ER. She was brave, even though I'm sure it hurt a lot!
On the hospital bed heading to get x-rays done.
After x-rays, waiting for the official diagnosis.
Yep. It's broken. Now we wait for them to come and give her a temporary cast.
All of the excitement from the afternoon wore her out and she crashed for about 30 minutes in the hospital. It was a much needed rest.
She woke up just in time to get a temporary cast and sling and be on our way.
And, if you break your arm and miss lunch and dinner, you get to have ice cream on the way home from the hospital.
First night sleeping with her cast.
